The Fraternal Order of Police, Hill Country Lodge #23 hosted the annual Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Day service on Tuesday, May 10^th, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. to honor Texas Law Enforcement Officers who have been killed in the line of duty. 

The service was held at the Hays County Government Center located at 712 South Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos. The FOP honored all Texas officers killed in the line of duty or passed due to Covid 19. Hays County had three line of duty deaths in 2021 the officers are Deputy Constable Manuel Phillipe De La Rosa (Hays County Constable’s Office, Precinct 2), Deputy Dustin Speckels (Hays County Sheriff's Office), and Correctional Officer James Henry (Hays County Sheriff's Office).

Participants in the service included officials from Hays County and the City of San Marcos, along with Honor Guards from several different agencies.
